Aunt Laura's visit.....

Wow! What a busy, but GREAT June!! Aunt Laurie came to visit & help plan Grandma Violette's 101 b-day! Birthday Party Blower The party was great, we had a turn out of about 28 ppl. I know Grandma really enjoyed it & was able to visit with family from out of town. It's really special to me, to have a living relative that is 101 years old! Grandma is very sweet & still knows how to laugh...I love it!

While aunt laurie was here we also had a chance to visit Universal Studio's....so much fun. It rained for the first six hours that we were there, I'm so glad we had umbrella's!

We also had fun at the beach & spent a lot of time cooling off in the pool! Aunt Laurie left this afternoon & we already miss her!

A visit from the Haines family.....

well, I have to say this is turning into a great summer! In addition to celebrating great-grandma Violette's 101 b-day & a visit from our dear Aunt laura from KC...we also get a visit from our old culd-e-sac neighbors & friends from KC....the Haines family! Although we are really enjoying Florida, we still truly miss our family & friends from Kansas!

We were able to spend two days with the Haines family.....Andrew really enjoyed hanging out with his old bud Caleb! And Katie enjoyed sweet chocolate covered strawberries made by her baking buddy "Mrs. Murry" (Mary)
Perfecto

Bill & I enjoyed catching up with our old friends, hope to see them again soon!

Katie at art camp!

Just hanging out this summer.....Katie just finished camp located in cocoa village. She had a great time. Art is definitely one of her favorite things to do!

Hangin' out with the birds

Andrew and Katie had a great time at the Brevard Zoo (5 minutes away) feeding the birds and watching them.

Spring fun in Sanibel Island

During Spring break we took off for Sanibel Island for some fun in the sun and shelling. Katie was especially excited about the shells. She is an adamant shell collector! Andrew had a blast playing in the sand and finding star fish. It was unexpectedly windy and cold....brrrrr.....we stopped at the local Walmart and picked up some warm clothing. Despite the surprising weather we all had a great time!

Space Shuttle Take Off

3,2,1.....let's have some fun! We were able to see and hear the launch of the shuttle out of Kennedy Space Center from our back yard. The kids thought it would be a lot louder than it actually was.

Gettin' There Fishing Charter

We didn't catch all the fish but had a great time. Ray and Claudia came up from Miami, Sandy and Laura out from Overland Park. The seas were 3-4 foot and rough enough. Up on the tower of the boat the sway for every foot you went up was 3 feet. I had to get down once, a bit too much for me!

We caught one nice king fish - the rest were throw backs. Everybody had a great time.

Havin' fun at Gatorland

An Orlando area legend, Gator land has been around for a long time. The tortoise Andrew is feeding is over 100 years old...not to bad for an old timer. The kids favorite show of the day was gator wrestling, although we are pretty sure they expected full-on UFC style cage match between gator and man.

Some of these monsters are over 1000 pounds! They actually look like statues unless they actually move or blink or something. We had a great time, but ready for something less alive - like Universal!!!

A Day at the Beach

We all had a good time getting the Christmas Card photo for this year on Cocoa beach. It was actually a pretty cold afternoon with the wind gusting...the kids kept warm by running the beach. Jackets were near by! :-)
